The world is a big place and there is always snow somewhere!
If you enjoy skiing then you will love the freedom of backcountry touring!
It's all the joy of resort skiing except no crowds, no lifts and better powder, fo sho!
During the winter months I am in Colorado where the ice is nice and the snow falls cold and crisp just like your favorite bottle of champagne (well, I couldn't exactly compare it to a tall boy of PBR now could I ?!). Anyway, in between Telluride and Silverton resorts is Red Mountain Pass. This Pass intersects some of the most awesome and accessible terrain in all of Colorado. Surrounded by peaks well over 13,000 ft. the pass provides easy and scenic access to some of the states most beautiful backcountry skiing.
