The small town of Ouray, located in South Western Colorado has one of the largest concentrations of ice climbs with in the state and is the home of the now famous Ouray Ice Park. Within the Ice Park, there are hundreds of easily accessible routes that include everything from intro routes to hard steep ice and mixed lines.

 

The local backcountry has numerous multi-pitch classics as well. The skylight area is one of these great locations that host numerous single pitch routes and provides access to the area classics such as the Ribbon WI 4, Bird Brain Boulevard M6 WI 5, and the Talisman M6 WI 5+.

 

The town of Ames, just outside of Telluride has the three pitch classic Ames Ice Hose WI 5 M6.

South of Red Mountain pass and North of Durango is Silverton. Silverton has amazing ice such as Stairway to heaven WI4 and Whorehouse Hoses WI 4.
