Alaska

Alaska is home to Denali, the highest point in North America at 20,320 ft. With Denali as a backdrop, many other classic peaks and glaciers create a sea of amazing climbing potential. The Ruth Gorge is one of these famous areas located within Denali National Park. Granite cliffs capped with snow rise 4,000 ft above the glacier creating some of Alaska's most notorious alpine climbs!

These trips are my personal Alaskan favorites. Whether you wish to push your endurance on the Moose's Tooth or hone your skills in the valley of the Ruth Gorge, these trips will leave you asking for more!

DENALI EXPEDITION

North America's highest peak and one of the seven summits! Need I say more?

As a lead guide for RMI, I lead a trip every year on this massive peak. Offerings include but are not limited to the West Buttress and the West Rib.

10-Day Moose's Tooth Expedition

One of the most famous peaks within the Ruth Gorge is the Moose's Tooth. The Moose's Tooth is truly a climber's peak that involves steep snow, ice and moderate mixed terrain over 3,000 ft. of spectacular alpine climbing.

10-Day Mountaineering Course

If the Moose's Tooth isn't yet within your grasp, Alaska can be the perfect training ground to learn basic mountain skills thru a 10-Day Mountaineering course. This course focuses on glacial travel and crevasse rescue, expeditionary camping skills, assessing mountain hazards as well as climbing some of Alaska's other well known peaks.

WRANGELL ST. ELIAS RANGE

Located on the far eastern side of Alaska, the largest National Park in the U.S. is definitely remote! If you want to get away from the crowds, this is your place! Classic peaks like Mt. Blackburn, Mt. Bona, University Peak and of course plenty of first ascents as well as first ski descent are still waiting to be had.
