A BETTER way to climb

As an AMGA Certified guide and as a lead guide for many reputable guide services, I am able to offer more terrain diversity than your average guide service. In the past, climbers who wanted to explore new terrain would need to switch guide services due to legalities and land use permits. This also usually meant starting "fresh" with a new guide every time. By working with select services and with the growing recognition of certified guides throughout the United States, I am able to travel and legally guide on most terrain throughout the U.S. and the world.

I firmly believe that by climbing with the guide of your choice, you will always have a more positive and rewarding experience. Not to mention the development of a stronger bond between you and your guide.

By being a smaller group, we can operate and climb more efficiently while providing greater in-depth instruction. Because of this, courses and expeditions can be catered to your individual needs and learning style.

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

As the world becomes a smaller place, it becomes even more important to travel as consciously as possible. This includes environmental as well as social considerations, especially when traveling abroad. I am committed to these goals by strictly adhering to Leave No Trace principles and by offering low ratio trips. This helps us to minimize our physical impact on these beautiful but often fragile landscapes so that they remain for generations to come. When traveling to foreign countries I only work with reputable companies and individuals to assist in our day-to-day operations. In doing so, we provide them with sustainable and fair wages. It's a small world and in the end, were all just visitors!

THE AMERICAN MOUNTAIN GUIDES ASSOCIATION

The American Mountain Guides Association (AMGA) certification program is the only internationally accepted training and evaluation process for guides in the United States. The AMGA certifies guides in three disciplines, Rock, Alpine and Ski Mountaineering. A certified guide has proven him or herself to an international standard showing competence, leadership, client care and technical expertise including emergency medical and rescue training. For ski mountaineering and alpine guides this includes terrain and snow stability assessment. As a result of the high standards required to pass AMGA certification exams, the AMGA was accepted as a member nation into the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA) in 1997. The IFMGA was formed in 1965 and has established worldwide standards for guide training and certification.
